INTRONAUT Announces New Album Title; Studio Report

Southern California’s INTRONAUT will be taking thinking man’s metal in a new direction with their Century Media debut, Prehistoricisms. The band is currently tracking drums at Opera Studios in North Hollywood and recording guitars and bass at Castle Oaks Studios in Calabasas. Vocals are being completed at Clearlake Audio in North Hollywood, and the whole process is being engineered by Josh Newell (JANE’S ADDICTION). Expect a release later this year.

“I can’t even begin to express how excited we are about this record,” said frontman and guitarist Sacha Dunable. “It’s definitely our most densely packed body of work yet. In addition to the standard INTRONAUT angle of attack, we have some surprises including an awesome guest solo from NEGATIVA/GORGUTS guitarist Steeve Hurdle, as well as some truly jaw-dropping moments of Indian/metal fusion courtesy of Joe and Dave. Stoked.”

In less than a week, INTRONAUT will join THE OCEAN and LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR in one of the more diverse bills of the year for a short run through Arizona and California before heading out with MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT and BEHOLD…THE ARCTOPUS for The Ultimate Brodeo Tour. INTRONAUT Signs Worldwide Deal with Century Media Records

Very few bands can effectively mix intelligence with intensity like Southern California’s INTRONAUT, which is one of the biggest reasons Century Media Records quickly signed the quartet to a worldwide deal. INTRONAUT essentially walks a fine line between psychedelic brutality, captivating hooks and devastating yet unpredictable time changes. This is the essence of thinking man’s metal and something so refreshing that it should serve as a vicious wake up call to masses forcing the entire genre to take notice.

A short tour of the U.S. with HIGH ON FIRE, A LIFE ONCE LOST, and SAVIOURS is slated for February, which will lead them into finishing the writing process for the new full-length to be recorded in April.

Sacha Dunable (vocals/guitars) states: “There is a level of chemistry that we’ve never had before, now with our new guitar player Dave in the band. The new ideas that are flowing out of us are totally destroying everything we’ve done prior to this, and we can’t wait to hear what will come of it.”

KYLESA Offers Update, Plan on Writing New Material

Savannah sludge-rockers KYLESA have offered an update on the band from home:

“We’re happy to announce that our video for ‘Hollow Severer’ will be airing on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball very soon,” guitarist/singer Laura Pleasants says. “You can view it now on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGFru8yyYIw). When viewed on Headbanger’s Ball in the context of other heavy music videos, I think that our video will offer something a little different than the average live footage video. The depiction of the narration is abstracted and literal with the use of simple claymation and an overall raw energy is captured by David and Allie of My Good Eye . They were great and easy to work with and we hope to work with them again in the future.

“In general news, we’ve toured pretty heavily the past few months supporting our latest release, Time Will Fuse its Worth, and everything went rather well. We’ve got a few shows starting today with awesome bands (TORCHE, MADE OUT OF BABIES and MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT), but we plan on taking some time off to write new material as we have a few projects coming up. Fun, creative projects, so stay in touch and we’ll keep you updated.”

Tour dates:
7/19 Orlando, FL – The Social
7/20 Tampa, FL – Transitions Art Gallery @ Skatepark of Tampa
7/21 Savannah, GA – Jinx (no MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT)
