EMPYRIUM’s First Album in Twelve Years Set for July 2014 Release

The German masters of dark folk metal, EMPYRIUM, have their comeback album, The Turn of the Tides, set for a July 18, 2014 release. Notwithstanding their creative break, The Turn of the Tides is an EMPYRIUM-album par excellence, although it bears strong testimony to the artistic and personal growth Schwadorf and Helm have undergone since 2002.

BETHLEHEM Resign with Prophecy Productions

BethlehemWith their album Dark Metal, BEHTLEHEM (founded in 1991) established the musical subgenre of the same name, and with their records Dictius Te Necare and S.U.i.Z.i.D., they are the founding fathers of Suicidal/Depressive Black Metal. More than ten years ago, they already cooperated with Prophecy to release their EP Profane Fetmilch lenzt elf krank (1999) as well as the album Schatten aus der Alexander Welt (2001). The group around Jürgen Bartsch now returns with a new contract Prophecy Productions.

The first mutual project of this newly forged alliance will be the release of BETHLEHEM‘s seventh studio album. The as yet untitled work will be recorded in August/September of 2013 in Klangschmiede Studio E under the aegis of Markus Stock: the first of four albums covered by the contract.

Jürgen Bartsch has this to say about the renewed contract formation: “Our choice of label is based on knowing the person mainly responsible for it for many years – a foundation of trust not to be undervalued these days. As a plus, you are experiencing an artistic freedom with Prophecy Productions that has no rival – they are backing you 100%, and they are serious about it. We are absolutely convinced that this cooperation on an equal footing is going to produce many strange blossoms, as Prophecy vs. BETHLEHEM are just like chalk and cheese together.”

AMBER ASYLUM Sign to Prophecy Productions

Amber AsylumProphecy Productions proudly announce their collaboration with AMBER ASYLUM in order to re-release the band’s entire back catalogue as well as three further albums. The follow-up to 2009′s Bitter River is currently being recorded and will most probably be released in 2013 alongside the new editions of the earlier albums.

For more than 15 years now, San Francisco’s AMBER ASYLUM have been forging a style which is hard to pinpoint, described by multi-instrumentalist Kris Force, the artistic leader of a shifting pool of studio- and live-musicians, as a mixture between neoclassic and dark ambient with hints at neofolk, industrial and doom metal. Right from the beginning, sinister string-arrangements and female vocals in combination with dragging rhythms of the hypnotic kind have been the main characteristics of AMBER ASYLUM, which according to the band tackle the core of being and achieve a cathartic effect.

“I am very pleased to come aboard Prophecy with the entire back catalogue. It is AMBER ASYLUM‘s personal singularity and the end to a long journey home. I hope to devote more time to the craft of actual music making and production while trusting the amazing team at Prophecy Productions to bring it to the world. On behalf of the entire collective of AMBER ASYLUM we move forward with enthusiasm and gratitude.”
