Chicago's TUB RING Signs with The End Records

October 18, 2006

Chicago’s avant-garde/spazz/rock ensemble, TUB RING, has signed to The End Records. The band will release their yet-untitled debut album for the label sometime in early 2007. Since their inception in 2001, TUB RING has been a force of nature in the left-of-center world of music. Their debut album, Drake Equation (produced by MR. BUNGLE’s Trey Spruance), helped showcase their musical makeup as a tornado of genres, mixing punk, classical, surf, a-capella, hard-core, pop, and whatever else crossed their path into one cohesive blend of rock.

“There are very few labels TUB RING would be comfortable working with,” says keyboardist Rob Kleiner about signing with The End Records. “It’d be difficult to be on a genre exclusive label, or with a label that had bad taste in artists. We’re excited to be with The End Records because they’re as into exploring new boundaries in music as we are.”

About the recording of the new album, he comments, “There were over 30 songs written for this album, but we’re only going to put the most important 13 on the record. It’s going to be just as eclectic as ever, with a thick and layered production. We want to make a big impression with this record because now being with The End Records our music will become exposed to a whole new audience.”

TUB RING has also made their mark outside of the music scene. They have been featured on Fox Sports, X-Box 360’s “Amp Snow Boarder 3”, various MTV/MTV2 programs, Spike and Mike’s Twisted Animation films and several Mt. Dew commercials. Most recently, TUB RING played live in the TRL room on MTV2 and was featured in the MTV reality-based contest show “Dew Circuit Breakout.”
