DEICIDE Guitarist Arrested On Drug Charges

Sources have reported that DEICIDE guitarist, Eric Hoffman, was arrested in Buffalo, New York en route to Canada on Tuesday. The band sans frontman, Glen Benton, who was travelling separately, were found with drugs and weapons in the mobile home they were traveling in.

According to police, Hoffman was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a hypodermic needle and three misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Another man by the of Benjamin T. Boynton, who was also travelling with Hoffman, was arrested as well. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony marijuana possession, felony weapon possession and two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Contrary to reports however, DEICIDE’s label, Earache Records, issued a statement saying, “the men were held at the border over night and were finally released early the following morning, with no charges against them.”

DEICIDE subsequently missed their October 21st show in Detroit, Michigan. No word yet on the status of the band’s tour.
