Hydra Head Industries will be forging into new territory starting in August with their Champions of Sound Tour. Intended to showcase the artists associated with the HHI family labels (Hydra Head Records, Tortuga Recordings), as well as a few members of the extended family (Escape Artist Records), the tour will span from one coast to the other and back hitting all major points along the way and will include SCISSORFIGHT, PELICAN, OLD MAN GLOOM, HARKONEN, 5IVE’S CONTINUUM RESEARCH PROJECT, THE AUSTERITY PROGRAM, and more.
In addition to spreading their monstrous sounds across the country, Hydra Head will be releasing a limited edition 7" available only at the tour stops. The record will be a split between PELICAN and SCISSORFIGHT, with a mystery guest, and will be limited to 800 copies. Each band will have their own version of the record with a special cover and vinyl color. For those collectors keeping track: that’s 3 bands, 3 covers, 3 colors, 800 copies, and remember, the record will never be available again after the tour.
As if a fancy, super limited 7" weren’t enough, for OLD MAN GLOOM’s portion of the tour they will have a limited edition 3" CD entitled Christmas Eve I and II + 5 for sale. The CD will contain new material and one live track.
