KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Added to This Year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival

April 7, 2009

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, who recently put the finishing touches on their yet-to-be-titled new album, have been officially added to this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival’s main stage.  The main stage bill will be topped by MARILYN MANSON and SLAYER, and features fellow main stage act, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE.

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival kicks off July 10th in Sacramento, CA and will hit 26 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.  Tickets will be available on Friday, April 10 at www.mayhemfest.com via a limited-time pre-sale. Pre-sale tickets will feature a custom-made limited-edition design, and will allow fans to enter the venue early. In addition, all pre-sale ticket buyers will be entered to win an exclusive Mayhem Fest drumkit from Tama drums. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning April 24. For specific on sale dates and additional ticketing information, visit www.livenation.com.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE’s singer, Howard Jones, commented on the festival: “There are so many great bands on this tour. Being able to share the stage with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON will make for a good time for everyone within earshot—and eyesight—of the stage. See you there—and drink plenty of water because you will sweat…a lot. It’s gonna be a crazy summer.”

The Jägermeister stage will feature TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, and the Jägermeister Battle of the Bands winner.  The Hot Topic stage will feature extreme metal bands CANNIBAL CORPSE, JOB FOR A COWBOY, BEHEMOTH, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and WHITECHAPEL. The World’s Greatest Freestyle Motocross team METAL MULISHA will also be revving up the crowd with their unique style of death-defying motorcycle stunts on all dates.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE’s follow-up to 2006’s gold-certified album, As Daylight Dies, recently wrapped up production and will be released sometime this year.  The album was produced by Brendan O’Brien (MASTODON, PEARL JAM, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE).
