OPETH To Spice Up Setlist For Upcoming Tour

November 12, 2003

OPETH have announced that they plan on changing up their live setlist for their upcoming 2004 tour. Having played in North America three times in support of Deliverance and Damnation, the band want to keep things interesting for fans by playing a series of never before played tunes from their vast catalog of songs. Some notable songs up for rehearsals are “The Moor,” “Nectar,” and “Blackwater Park.” No guarantees those songs will make it to the stage though. OPETH plan to tour Greece, Turkey, and the US in January, February, and March. Work on a new album will commence following their 2004 touring duties.

In other news, frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt has provided his vocal handiwork on the new AYREON album, The Human Equation. He recorded vocals for eight tracks last week in Holland at multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen’s home studio.
