SIGH's Long Awaited New Album Available Now

September 13, 2005

Red Stream/Baphomet Records recently released the long awaited new album by Japan’s premier black/avant garde metal band, SIGH, entitled Gallows Gallery. In 2004, SIGH recorded their sixth album but Century Media, their label at the time, refused to release it as it contains parts applying the infamous sonic weapon techniques experimented with during World War II. The band warns that the album could do harm to your health. SIGH mastermind, Mirai Kawashima, suffered from strange dizziness, migraine headache, and extreme ghastly pale tone while working on Gallows Gallery and had to be hospitalized. His hospitalization was cited as one of the reasons why it took so long for the album to be released.

Gallows Gallery marks the debut for new drummer, Junichi Harashima, who was recruited in 2004.

Guest musicians include:
Gus G. (FIREWIND, ex-DREAM EVIL): Lead Guitar
Niklas Sundin (DARK TRANQUILITY): Lead Guitar
Killjoy (NECROPHAGIA): Voices, Narration
Gunface (THE RED CHORD): Lead Guitar
Bruce Lamont (YAKUZA): Saxophone
Metatron (THE MEADS OF ASPHODEL): Narration
Paul Groundwell (THINE): Lead Guitar

This album definitely has the good old heavy metal vibe from the 80’s along with various musical influences from classical music, jazz, to sonic weapon experimentation and is the band’s heaviest release to date. Check out a new track, “Messiahplan,” here.
