Swedish grindcore act, BURST, have secured a multi-album deal with Relapse Records. Clearly pleased with their new label, BURST, who features ex-NASUM bassist Jesper Liveröd, commented on the signing:
“This agreement has been very carefully contemplated and negotiated by BURST, and we want to convey our great satisfaction and trust in our new label backup. Relapse Records is, in our eyes, a label that as well as having an interesting roster has a very real and passionate take on music. We regard this label as one very suitable for our band, not only on a personal level, but also in visions regarding artistry and aesthetics. These fucking guys have a good taste in music and are very grounded as people and partners. Kudos kudos.”
The band’s first release for the label will be Prey On Life, which was recorded last summer with producer Fredrik Reinedahl (IN FLAMES, PASSENGER) at Studio Phlat Planet in Gothenburg, Sweden. The album is tentatively scheduled for a September release in the US and Europe, and a release in Japan will follow shortly after.
BURST are planning to tour farily extensively to support Prey On Life. Their first jaunt in Europe will likely take place late fall. Stay tuned for more details.
