THE GATHERING Singer Wins "Best Singer" at Muzikantendag

June 1, 2006

THE GATHERING frontwoman, Anneke van Giersbergen, was awarded “Best Singer” honors at this year’s Muzikantendag (Dutch Musicians Day) held on May 27th in Amsterdam.

Additionally, her band won the famous Dutch “Edison Award” in the category “Best National Music DVD” for thier recently released double live DVD A Sound Relief.

In other news the band will back on the road in Europe this June after they had to cancel the first month of their upcoming leg of their European Homelands tour back in April due to van Giersbergen suffering an obstinate bronchial and sinus infection.

The original tour dates – April 19th, 2006 to May, 28th 2006 – have been rescheduled for September and October this year.

THE GATHERING released their well-received album Home in April on The End Records.
