THE HAUNTED Sign With Century Media; Download New Song

June 4, 2004

Sweden’s THE HAUNTED have signed a worldwide multiple-album deal with Century Media Records. The band have already completed work on their highly anticipated, yet still untitled, fourth album which will be released this fall.

Guitarist Anders Björler commented on the signing: “We are happy to have chosen Century Media for the next couple of albums. Century Media is a legendary metal label, and we feel strongly they’ll support us in the best way possible.”

The new album, highlighted by the return of original singer Peter Dolving, was recorded at Studio Fredman (ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES) with producers Patrik J. Steen and Fredrik Nordström. Some tracks set to appear on the album include “All Against All,” “Who Will Decide” (featuring a guest appearance by SICK OF IT ALL vocalist Lou Koller), “Burnt To A Shell,” and “99,” which has been posted for download here.

Mixing was recently completed at Denmark’s Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen. Dolving had this to say regarding the mixing process: “The mixing is all done and it turned out great. In the end, the mixing fell on wild card Tue Madsen from Antfarm Studios in Denmark. We were really happy with the Charles Storm mixes, but the songs felt a little too sophisticated for what we’re trying to convey with this album. As it were, Tue tried mixing a couple of the tracks, and as soon as we heard his mixes we felt we had to turn it over to Tue, because the raw honesty he brought out of the sound. Now we’re looking at a rough, hard and clean bite to what we’ve cooked up. It’s a hell of a lot closer to what we do live.”

Regarding Dolving’s return and the new album, Anders Björler said, “It’s nice to have Dolving back in the band. He’s energitic, hardworking and had 1000’s of fresh musical ideas upon his return. We look forward to what the future will hold for us as a band. After having recorded this new album I feel confident it will work out extremely well.”

In other news, THE HAUNTED have also secured an exclusive worldwide management deal with Petri Lundén and Talent Trust (EUROPE, TURBONEGRO, THE CARDIGANS).
