YEAR OF DESOLATION Joins The Prosthetic Records Roster

March 13, 2006

Indianapolis’ YEAR OF DESOLATION has officially been signed to Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records. Recording for the band’s Prosthetic debut will take place July 9 - 27 with seasoned producer Jamie King at the Basement Studios. The self-titled record will subsequently be released in early 2007.

“We’re completely stoked about working with Prosthetic they have some great bands and we are happy to be a part of their family,” says guitarist John Hehman. “We’re excited as hell to put this record out on Prosthetic, because it’s definitely the best YEAR OF DESOLATION stuff to date! LONG LIVE THE SHRED!!”

Originally formed in 2001 and with one full-length and one EP already under its belt, YEAR OF DESOLATION brands its sound as “melodic thrash, with absolutely zero metalcore influence,” combining elements of thrash, neo classical, European progressive metal and American death metal. The band has already written a handful of material for the upcoming album, and several rough demos are available on the band’s MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/yearofdesolation.

In the meantime, YEAR OF DESOLATION will head out on the road with THE TONY DANZA TAPDANCE EXTRAVAGANZA.
