Duff McKagan’s LOADED Post Video Clips, Prepare for European Tour

As the hard rock world eagerly anticipates the much talked about new effort from the Seattle-based sonic force Duff McKagan‘s LOADED, the group has gone ahead and posted an in-depth, four-part miniseries (shot by King of Hearts Promotions) giving fans a look into the making of their new album. These clips further showcase the band’s undeniable songwriting chemistry and overall dynamic personalities. It’s not often that you get to take a trip with Duff to the grocery store and see how the legendary, ex-GUNS ‘N ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER bassist works in the studio. This is an all-out assault of pure rock and punk infused fury that pulls no punches, view all of the webisodes here: http://www.youtube.com/centurymedia

Duff McKagan‘s LOADED has returned after a lengthy hiatus with their much anticipated, new full-length release. The quartet has signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records and a limited edition, five-song EP, Wasted Heart, will be issued later this month in conjunction with their upcoming UK headlining tour, which also marks the band’s first trip to this territory (see below for dates). The new offering was recorded by Martin Feveyear (THE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, KINGS OF LEON) and the full-length album is set for an early 2009 release.

Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/loaded to check out the new track, “No More,” (from the Wasted Heart EP) and a new video clip for the track will be posted in the coming weeks. Duff also has a column in the Seattle Weekly. Duff McKagan‘s LOADED was formed in 1999 and has morphed several times, releasing two albums: 1999’s Live Episode and 2001’s Dark Days. The current line-up features drummer Geoff Reading (NEW AMERICAN SHAME, GREEN APPLE QUICKSTEP), bassist Jeff Rouse and guitarist Mike Squires (both formerly of ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE). This tight-knit group of rock n’ roll brothers bring their high-energy to every stage, from Seattle’s Sunset Tavern to Tokyo’s NK Hall.

ROB ZOMBIE Guitarist John 5 to Release New Solo Album

Out of the dark passages of John 5’s mind comes this mind-blowing, sinister guitar instrumental. The Devil Knows My Name is his third solo album, due out on April 3rd, 2007, which features guest guitar solo’s from two legendary guitarists – Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson with newer legend in-the-making, Jim Root (SLIPKNOT). Keeping time are ZOMBIE band-mates, Tommy Clufetos (drums) and Piggy D. (bass). The album was recorded in the middle of night where John 5 would lay down his leads. This is the only album where all leads were doubled – an instrumental feat that is rarely taken on by the best of the guitar players.

The Devil Knows My Name melds around clues, quotes and references of serial killers, wielding an eerie tone for those who dare to enter the world of John 5’s mind. “I wanted a different tone to the instrumental with twisted imagery of sounds,” explains John 5. “Utilizing serial killers came to light for this project while looking at their crimes and how distorted their minds work.”

Not all is sinister on The Devil Knows My Name but there are tunnels to the past greats. John 5 shreds-out his version of GUNS N’ ROSES “Welcome to the Jungle” and Chet Atkins “Young Thing.” “I chose ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ for the one reason – when I was becoming successful it was easy to stay in the nest back home, then I saw the video and that made me get up and go to Hollywood.” “Welcome to the Jungle” will be the first release off the album and is hitting the airwaves soon.

John 5 has created a worldwide following as a widely respected guitarist with such platinum artists as MARILYN MANSON, David Lee Roth, Rob Halford and now an integral member of ROB ZOMBIE. John 5’s eclectic influences combine for a truly unique guitar oriented record that once again sets new standards in the genre.
