JOB FOR A COWBOY Complete New Album, Ruination

Arizona’s JOB FOR A COWBOY have completed work on their forthcoming new album, Ruination. The album is scheduled for a worldwide release in July through Metal Blade Records.

Ruination, the follow-up to their successful debut Genesis, was recorded at Audio Hammer Productions in Sanford, FL with producer Jason Suecof (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER) and will be mixed by Fredrik Nordstrom (AT THE GATES, OPETH). Ruination marks the JOB FOR A COWBOY recording debut of drumming prodigy Jon “The Charn” Rice, who has toured with the band since the release of Genesis and features ten tracks of their guttural brand of deathcore.

Frontman Jonny Davy commented on the new album: “JOB FOR A COWBOY has toured the world and faced a ton of challenges over the course of the last year and a half. All of the hard work that we’ve put in and everything that we’ve experienced is directly reflected in our new songs, which we know are our best yet. Stay tuned.”

Upon the release of Ruination, JOB FOR A COWBOY will hit the road as one of the featured acts of the 2009 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival alongside SLAYER, MARILYN MANSON and more. The 27-date North American march is slated to launch on July 10 in Sacramento, CA.  More info here:

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Added to This Year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, who recently put the finishing touches on their yet-to-be-titled new album, have been officially added to this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival‘s main stage.  The main stage bill will be topped by MARILYN MANSON and SLAYER, and features fellow main stage act, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE.

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival kicks off July 10th in Sacramento, CA and will hit 26 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.  Tickets will be available on Friday, April 10 at via a limited-time pre-sale. Pre-sale tickets will feature a custom-made limited-edition design, and will allow fans to enter the venue early. In addition, all pre-sale ticket buyers will be entered to win an exclusive Mayhem Fest drumkit from Tama drums. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning April 24. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE‘s singer, Howard Jones, commented on the festival: “There are so many great bands on this tour. Being able to share the stage with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON will make for a good time for everyone within earshot—and eyesight—of the stage. See you there—and drink plenty of water because you will sweat…a lot. It’s gonna be a crazy summer.”

The Jägermeister stage will feature TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, and the Jägermeister Battle of the Bands winner.  The Hot Topic stage will feature extreme metal bands CANNIBAL CORPSE, JOB FOR A COWBOY, BEHEMOTH, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and WHITECHAPEL. The World’s Greatest Freestyle Motocross team METAL MULISHA will also be revving up the crowd with their unique style of death-defying motorcycle stunts on all dates.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE‘s follow-up to 2006’s gold-certified album, As Daylight Dies, recently wrapped up production and will be released sometime this year.  The album was produced by Brendan O’Brien (MASTODON, PEARL JAM, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE).
