KYLESA Offers Update, Plan on Writing New Material

Savannah sludge-rockers KYLESA have offered an update on the band from home:

“We’re happy to announce that our video for ‘Hollow Severer’ will be airing on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball very soon,” guitarist/singer Laura Pleasants says. “You can view it now on YouTube ( When viewed on Headbanger’s Ball in the context of other heavy music videos, I think that our video will offer something a little different than the average live footage video. The depiction of the narration is abstracted and literal with the use of simple claymation and an overall raw energy is captured by David and Allie of My Good Eye . They were great and easy to work with and we hope to work with them again in the future.

“In general news, we’ve toured pretty heavily the past few months supporting our latest release, Time Will Fuse its Worth, and everything went rather well. We’ve got a few shows starting today with awesome bands (TORCHE, MADE OUT OF BABIES and MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT), but we plan on taking some time off to write new material as we have a few projects coming up. Fun, creative projects, so stay in touch and we’ll keep you updated.”

Tour dates:
7/19 Orlando, FL – The Social
7/20 Tampa, FL – Transitions Art Gallery @ Skatepark of Tampa
7/21 Savannah, GA – Jinx (no MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT)

JESU Secure Permits; To Begin U.S. Tour March 11th

JESU will finally be joining ISIS on tour beginning this Sunday, March 11th, following some troubles getting the proper paperwork for entering the U.S.  JESU mainman Justin K. Broadrick issued the following statement on the matter:

“The impending permits/visas finally cleared for JESU this week; the unforeseen backlog at the U.S embassy in London had somewhat reduced enabling the band to be interviewed and be issued their work permits/visas.

“This means that JESU will perform its first live show in the U.S this Sunday, March 11th in Washington DC at the 9.30 Club and will complete the rest of the tour with ISIS from there on in, performing at the Hydra Head Showcase at SXSW, Austin, Texas on the 15th March along the way.

“Many thanks for your patience and huge apologies to those that missed JESU at earlier shows due to these unforeseen circumstances. A JESU headline tour of the U.S over the next 9 – 12 months will hopefully compensate somewhat, especially since JESU now have permits/visas for 12 months!

“Also thank you for all the kind words and messages we have received, we wish we could reply to them all….”

TORCHE Announces New Releases, Tour Dates

Miami, Florida’s TORCHE are geared up for a busy year, with several new releases planned, heavy time on the road and the recording of their sophomore album. First and foremost, TORCHE will join ISIS and JESU for a February/March tour spanning most of the south-east and east coast. (see below for dates)

A special re-mixed version of TORCHE‘s acclaimed self-titled debut full-length will first be made available on this tour, as a deluxe gatefold vinyl LP. The entire album has been re-mixed from the ground up and now features an additional track originally recorded during the same session, but only recently receiving some seriously epic vocal treatment. The CD version of this will hit stores later this summer through Rock Action in Europe, and as a 2xCD in North America through Robotic Empire featuring both the new remixed version as disc 1 and the untreated original mix as disc 2.

Around the same time Robotic Empire will issue the long-delayed In Return EP, which was recently completed through Southern Noise Studios in Miami and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East in Boston. Originally planned to be a two-song 7″, the six track EP will be issued as a 10″+CD… which is to say that the release will have both digital and analog formats available together. This was done to ensure that the intense artwork created by John Baizley will mainly be experienced in the large gatefold 10″ format. A newly mastered song from this release has been posted online and can be heard on the band’s Myspace page:

Following the tour with ISIS and JESU, the band will return to Miami to put the finishing touches on their sophomore album, which will be recorded by Kurt Ballou at Godcity in Boston during late May/early June. TORCHE will tour both to and from Boston around this time, playing with some seriously incredible groups on this jaunt.
