INTRONAUT Post Two New Video Clips Online; New Album Now Available

The wait is finally over as progressive titans INTRONAUT unveil their much anticipated new album, Prehistoricisms, to the masses today. Prehistoricisms, was engineered by Josh Newell and will certainly captivate the metal world with it’s blend of psychedelic brutality, captivating hooks and unpredictable time changes. An abstract, eye-popping new video for the track, “Australopithecus,” was directed by the acclaimed Sera Timms (ISIS, PELICAN). Click the link below to view a short preview of the clip and look for it to make its online debut sometime next month.

A widget is now available at www.myspace.com/intronaut which features two tracks from the album, “Australopithecus” and “The Literal Black Cloud.”

Sacha Dunable (vocals/guitars) further comments: “We just got home after driving straight through from Nebraska, which means we were in a small ass van for like 24 hours straight. Never again. The part of the tour where we played shows with our best friends ever (MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT and BEHOLD…THE ARCTOPUS) on the other hand was in fact awesome. This was one of the longest trips we have ever done (7/29 – 9/10), and I could seriously do it all over again.

“In a rare moment of genius, we decided to bring a video camera on the tour, capturing some great performances, bro down sessions and the amazing characters we encountered along the way. I’ll let you watch this nine minute video we edited together to try and understand what life was like for 39 days or so. Part 2 should be coming soon.

“We also made our first ever music video. It was done by Sera Timms. We have seen a short clip, and I must say I am pretty impressed. We were kind of concerned that a video would come across as cheesy or forced, but Sera made a really elaborate storyline to go along with the very vague lyrical content (quite a feat) and just made this amazing video that we can totally be proud of. We can’t wait for you all to see it and we will be back on the road soon.”

IRON MAIDEN Announce Somewhere Back in Time World Tour 2008

IRON MAIDEN announce only two U.S. shows at the Los Angeles Forum on Tuesday February 19th and at the Izod Center, New Jersey on March 14th as part of the Somewhere Back in Time World Tour 2008.

The band will fly in especially for this one show from Tokyo two days before and depart for Mexico the day after on a specially commissioned and customized Boeing 757, flown by Astraeus Airline Captain and MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The 757, decked out in MAIDEN and Eddie artwork, will carry the band, road crew and other personnel of around 70 people plus over 12 tons of equipment.

This first leg of the Somewhere Back in Time World Tour opens in Mumbai, India on February 1st, and continues through Australia and Japan before arriving in LA.

The entourage then fly to Mexico and into Latin America for the band’s first ever concerts in Costa Rica and Columbia, and on to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rica and New York, before finishing in Toronto, Canada, on March 16th. Over the 45 day period it is anticipated that MAIDEN will play to well over 400,000 fans in 21 cities in 10 countries, flying close to 50,000 miles in the specially refitted plane (full schedule below).

Comments Bruce Dickinson, “I have been flying commercial passenger jets for Astraeus Airlines for a few years now and we are commissioning an Astraeus Boeing 757. It will go in for overhaul, painting and conversion in November which will then give us time to ensure we have all the necessary safety documentation, especially with regard to fire safety. It also means it could possibly be flying commercial air routes decked out in MAIDEN colours for a couple of months before we start!

“Looking at the list of places we would like to play we have always had problems joining up the dots. With sea containers in various places it slows down the whole touring process, which is fine if you want a holiday but not if you want to play.

It’s great to see places but we don’t want to sit around for a week waiting for gear to get from, say Australia to South America, so this way we can get to more fans in more places en route in the same time period.”

To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic Live After Death concert video (full details coming soon) this tour will revisit the band’s history by focusing almost entirely on the 80’s in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian production of the 1984-85 Powerslave Tour. This will arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the band have ever presented, and will include some key elements of their Somewhere in Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie.

Steve Harris comments: “The last time we played California was the Verizon last October and it was a fantastic gig, sold out well in advance so the fans were well up for it. It was as good a crowd reaction as we have ever had in LA. It was also our last show on that US Tour and really ended up a night to remember. It will certainly be the first time we have played LA by flying in, doing the show and flying straight out again – we usually like to hang around there for a few days!! We will have to make up for it next time!! “l always loved the Powerslave show which I think was arguably our most spectacular ever, so bringing it back to LA – where we originally filmed the show at Long Beach Arena for our Live After Death video – has got to be special and we are very much looking forward to it”.

The IRON MAIDEN fan club have arranged an exclusive first access pre-sale for members to buy Tickets to the show on Tuesday November 6th, before tickets go on sale to the public on 10th November.

To allow fans to be right up close to the band, the fan club will also be running a special draw whereby 60 winners and friend at each show will be given first access to the venue enabling them to be first to the stage barrier. Full details can be found on www.ironmaiden.com.

General public on-sale is Saturday, November 10 at 10 A.M

IMMOLATION Kick Off North American Tour with SUFFOCATION; New Video Online

Legendary death metal titans IMMOLATION kick off a massive a month-long North American tour this week with SUFFOCATION and SKINLESS, which marks their first stateside trek in three years. Returning with the same lineup as their previous release, Harnessing Ruin, the group finds itself uncharacteristically stable, allowing for chemistry not present in their formative years. Founding members Ross Dolan (vocals/bass) and Robert Vigna (guitar) join Bill Taylor (guitar) and Steve Shalaty (drums) to form the group’s most consistently punishing lineup yet.

Robert Vigna (guitars) further describes his excitement over the upcoming tour: “We are really looking forward to this SUFFOCATION tour. We haven’t been out in the states for a while now and we can’t wait! I think the lineup is really strong and the fact that it’s composed off all NY bands is something special that the kids have been waiting for. All the bands have their own style, so it’s going to be a great extreme show!

“We are going to try and fit in as much classic material, as well as new stuff into our set. With each album it gets harder and harder to get a set list together, but I think we chose some really good tunes for the tour. We have enough different tracks down to alternate from night to night, which is what we plan to do, so things will be a little different each show. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there and prepare for one intense night of extreme metal.”

Improving upon the foundation of technical, neck-snapping death metal they helped build beginning in the late 1980s, IMMOLATION unleashes the seventh chapter in their legendary career, Shadows in the Light. The stunning new effort was recorded at Millbrook Sound Studios with producer Paul Orofino and is now available. The video for the track, “World Agony,” was recently posted on their official MySpace page. Click the link below to check it out: www.myspace.com/immolationny

KYLESA Offers Update, Plan on Writing New Material

Savannah sludge-rockers KYLESA have offered an update on the band from home:

“We’re happy to announce that our video for ‘Hollow Severer’ will be airing on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball very soon,” guitarist/singer Laura Pleasants says. “You can view it now on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGFru8yyYIw). When viewed on Headbanger’s Ball in the context of other heavy music videos, I think that our video will offer something a little different than the average live footage video. The depiction of the narration is abstracted and literal with the use of simple claymation and an overall raw energy is captured by David and Allie of My Good Eye . They were great and easy to work with and we hope to work with them again in the future.

“In general news, we’ve toured pretty heavily the past few months supporting our latest release, Time Will Fuse its Worth, and everything went rather well. We’ve got a few shows starting today with awesome bands (TORCHE, MADE OUT OF BABIES and MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT), but we plan on taking some time off to write new material as we have a few projects coming up. Fun, creative projects, so stay in touch and we’ll keep you updated.”

Tour dates:
7/19 Orlando, FL – The Social
7/20 Tampa, FL – Transitions Art Gallery @ Skatepark of Tampa
7/21 Savannah, GA – Jinx (no MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT)
