March 26, 2012 — Duncan Patterson’s latest project, ALTERNATIVE 4 has announced its signing with Prophecy Productions. With the band name derived from the ANATHEMA album from 1998, the musical and atmospheric direction of this band is given: a solid rock foundation enriched with painful piano and string arrangements, sometimes on the verge of ambient music, sometimes offering the big influence of the rather dark and abysmal side of PINK FLOYD.
February 7, 2012 — ANATHEMA will return in April with Weather Systems, their brand new studio album. Weather Systems is the follow-up to 2010’s We’re Here Because We’re Here, which has been featured prominently in numerous end-of-year polls and the producer, Steven Wilson (PORCUPINE TREE), has described it as ‘‘definitely among the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.
December 23, 2011 — 2011 was a very productive and enjoyable year for extreme music, perhaps the best in years. Thus, it was not an easy task choosing what we enjoyed best since they were just so many.
September 13, 2011 — Liverpool’s ANATHEMA have announced that keyboardist Les Smith (ex-CRADLE OF FILTH) has left the band. Here is their official statement: “It is with regret and sadness that Anathema announce they have parted company with keyboardist Les Smith due to creative and musical differences.
August 10, 2011 — Liverpool, England’s ANATHEMA have posted a preview of their upcoming orchestral album, Falling Deeper, online. The release will be available September 5th in Europe. No North American release date has been announced yet.
July 8, 2011 — It feels like it’s been a lifetime since the release of a new ANATHEMA album and the waiting has been taxing on fans. No doubt there have been various legitimate reasons for the length of time, including turmoil within the band and business issues.

December 20, 2007 — Anneke Van Giersbergen (AGUA DE ANNIQUE, ex-THE GATHERING) and Danny Cavanagh (ANATHEMA) have announced a special one-off show where each musician will perform a solo set, followed by a special set with both musicians.
November 24, 2007 — ANATHEMA, who are currently touring Europe with PORCUPINE TREE, have posted a new song, called “Angels Walk Among Us”, for download here. The track is from their forthcoming new album, tentatively titled Paradigm Shift.

August 1, 2007 — ANATHEMA’s Danny Cavanagh has issued a lengthy update on the band’s upcoming plans, which include a European tour with PORCUPINE TREE and tentative plans to release a double-album entitled Paradigm Shift.
